"Wide Awake" of Katy Perry
The song is lyrically reminiscent of the reality of a break up and moving on.
Perry stated: "I know exactly what that music video is. I know exactly who is directing it. I know the art direction, the people, the narrative, and I had that idea while I was writing the song".
I personally think this is a kick ass video not only because of its creativity but also because it teaches kids that in this modern world, the reality is, the prince charming that seemingly "saves you" and who you end up falling for, isn't really always who he says he is. All this Twilight non-sense is fantasy and all the prince's in those fairy tales are not the real deal. It takes one in a million for those to happen and in all honesty, if you are not that one in a million then you are probably better off strong, tough and independent.
